E-Poetry Contest, 2012

Students and teachers in grades 1 - 12 who attend or teach school in Chester County are eligible to enter the Pennsylvania Writing and Literature Project's fourth annual e-poetry contest.

Deadline: Entries must be submitted by March 31, 2012

All submissions should be sent via e-mail as a Word document attachement to: PAWLP@wcupa.edu

See contest flyer for rules and guidlines for submissions.

Winners will be notified during Poetry Month in April, with a celebration for the winners and their families at the Chester County Book and Music Company in West Goshen on May 10, 2012 at 6:30 p.m.

The top 3 winners in each category receive a certificate, a writers's toolbox, and public recognition of their poem on the PA Writing & Literature Project website (www.pawlp.org) and in the Chester County Library in Exton.

The first place winner in each category receives a full scholarship to a summer Young Writers camp.

Entries will be judged in five grade-level categories: 1 - 2, 3 - 5, 6 - 8, 9 - 12, and a separate sonnet category for grades 9 - 12.

There is also a teacher category.  The winning teacher will receive a certificate to attend a Fall or Spring PAWLP workshop and a gift card.

A panel of PAWLP teacher-consultants will judge all entries based on the PA Domain Scoring Guide adapted for poetry.
