Many scholarships and awards are offered for art students both within West Chester University and from the Art Department. The most prominent awards from the Art Department are the Besse Grubb Memorial Scholarship, which provides tuition assistance for a junior student, the Hawthorne Scholarship which is awarded to a first year student based on the quality of their portfolio, the Robert Dale McKinney Scholarship for the most promising junior painting majorand the Penn Women Award given in recognition of excellence in art to a senior major.
