Why did you decide to attend West Chester University?

I've wanted to come to West Chester since I was a Sophomore in high school. I loved the campus environment and had a great first impression of the Department of Theatre and Dance after meeting with the chair, Dr.Harvey Rovine.

What is your favorite thing about the Department of Theatre and Dance?

My favorite part about the department is that you have the opportunity to take control of your education. You're able to take the classes you want to take and cater your education towards the areas that you're interested in with help from your advisor. In addition to this, the faculty is 100% on board with what you want and work around the clock to provide the students with a plethora of opportunities to develop their skills and interests.

What didn't you know about the Department of Theatre and Dance before you came to WCU?

I didn't really know how useful a B.A. program was until I came to WCU. I knew I personally didn't want to go to  a school with a B.F.A. program, but i wasn't able to see the true benefits of our program at WCU until I was a part of it. You will learn a lot about a lot and it all helps you become a well-rounded theatre professional. I originally came into the department thinking all i wanted to do was act, but through all of the classes I've taken and experiences I've had, my resume now shows that I'm an actor, a dancer, a stage manager, and a director. This is what I've grown to appreciate the most about WCU's Department of Theatre and Dance.

What do you plan to do after graduation?

After graduation, I'm planning on moving back home to continue saving up money while applying for internships in Philadelphia and New York City. Eventually, I want to move to NYC and pursue my career as a professional actor and after two or more years of "field experience", I'm interested in attending graduate school.

What would you like to tell students considering WCU or the Department of Theatre and Dance?

I would like to tell students considering WCU or the Department of Theatre and Dance that coming to West Chester has been the best personal and professional decision I've made in my life so far and there hasn't been a single regret the entire time I've attended this school and this department. I've learned so much about myself, about theatre, about making art, and more importantly about life. The skills and knowledge I've gained in my time here will stay with me my whole life and give me confidence that I will be a successful theatre artist in my future.
