“What Do Students Say About the Learning Communities Project?”
“I would encourage every new student to participate in the Learning community. When I started attending WCU I was so nervous that I would have trouble meeting people. The friendships that I made in the Learning community are strong and will likely continue after my years here at WCU are over.” --Gretchen
“I like the imitate class sizes that are not so big that you feel drowned out in discussion yet not so small that they limit the spread of unique ideas and perspectives.” -- Joshua
“We get to become closer with a small group of people who are commuters like me. It was nice to be able to meet people who don’t live at WCU. It allowed us to become friends and make friends easier.” --Christine
“A lot of us are together in more than one class. It makes it easier to get adjusted to a university setting when you are around the same individuals.” --Kristen
“I really get to meet a lot of people. It’s easy to ask questions and figure out information.” --Danae
“I like sharing two classes with friends.” --Matt
“What I like best about my Learning Community is building friendships with people who have similar college experiences, such as commuting.” --Tyler
“I like that some of the people in my classes are also near me in the dorm. So when I’m not sure about an assignment or need someone to work with, people are right there to ask.” --Juliana
“Everyone seems to get along really well and you get to share classes with them. So everyone helps each other out.” --Olivia
I like the feeling of being in a group of people that are all here for the same reasons and with the same intentions.” – Brandi
“I’ve made good friends.” --Brendon
