Summer Recreation Employment

The West Goshen Park and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for the positions of counselor and junior counselor for the 2013 Summer Recreation Program.

Summer Counselor
The Park and Recreation Department will accept applications for the position of counselor until Friday, April 19, 2013. Summer counselors are required to plan, lead and actively supervise a variety of age appropriate recreational activities such as sports, games, crafts, special events and field trips for children between the ages of five and twelve. Counselors are responsible for the direct supervision and wellbeing of the participants while communicating and enforcing program rules and expectations outdoors in a team environment. In addition to working weekday mornings, summer counselors are assigned to one Afternoon Sports Clinic per week instructing activities such as tennis, soccer, tee ball, and skateboarding. Summer counselor applicants are required to be 18 years of age, hold current first aid / CPR certification and have a high school diploma by June 24, 2013.

Positions available – Fitness Coach and Personal Trainer

 

The Healthplex Sports Club has immediate openings for both Fitness Coaches and Personal Trainers. These positions are responsible for direct contact with current and new members including conducting new member fitness assessments and program designs.  Applicants should have a solid knowledge of industry accepted exercise protocols and use of cardio and strength training equipment.  Positive attitude and energy is a must, as well as a desire to see members succeed.  Candidates must be willing to work in a team environment and have good communication skills.  A degree or Certification in exercise or fitness is preferred; however candidates without certification should be willing to earn such within 90 days of hire.  Position may require early mornings, evenings and weekends. 

 

Fitness Coach Job Description

 

  •  Present/visible on fitness floor during hours
  •  Orientate members to facility and programs
  •  Maintain relationships with members to ensure retention
  •  Answer questions and concerns with positive energy and attitude
  •  Direct members to appropriate areas of club
  •  Partnership with wellness and personal trainers
  •  Provide basic exercise guidance and coaching

 

Personal Trainer Job Description

 

  •  Work independently with clients to insure they achieve their desired goals
  •  Maintain a working knowledge of all the latest training programs and trends
  •  Continue to develop a growing client base through referrals and member contact
  •  Support all group training programs with through direct involvement or verbal support
  •  Maintain a professional appearance whenever working out
