As the Undergraduate Program Counselor for the College of Education at West Chester University, I am available to help teacher education majors with any program requirements and particularly the process of Formal Admission to Teacher Education.
My office is located in the Teacher Education Center directly above Starbucks in the Francis Harvey Green Library, Room 251. You are welcome to drop in or make an appointment for a specific time. I am in the office, Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 4:00 during the summer, and 8:00 to 4:30 during the academic year.
For majors requiring community service (undergraduate early childhood, elementary, special education, post-baccalaureate elementary), I am here to help you plan your community service experience and sign your pre-approval form. I will verify your community service hours once completed and read your reflective statement.
If you need ideas for Community Service, there is a Blackboard site that has ideas/CSE opportunities organized by area (on campus, in West Chester, in Chester County, in Delaware County, in Philadelphia, etc). These opportunities are under External Links in the CSE Blackboard Site. Click here for directions on how to access the Community Service Experience Organization site on Blackboard.
I also approve waivers for qualifying students that meet the requirements for a one time waiver prior to Formal Admission to Teacher Education.
