Community Service Activity: The ASD Socialization Programs meet on the first and third Tuesday of the month from 6PM-8PM. Teens and young adults with ASD come on campus to socialize with their peers and volunteers. The group first meets in the Ehinger Annex Rm. 113 and then walks down to Sykes for dinner, games and socializing.  All volunteer expenses are covered.  This is an excellent opportunity for WCU students to get to know individuals with ASD in a comfortable environment and help them enhance their socialization skills. Clearances are required. Teens attend the first Tuesday and young adults on the third Tuesday of the month.

Community Service Activity: The CCIU Mentoring Program meets every Monday and Wednesday in the Ehinger Annex room 113 during the semester. Students with special needs, ages 18-21 who attend the CCIU Transitional Living Programs come on campus from 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM. WCU mentors help the students meet their IEP functional and socialization life skills goals and experience college life. We ask students to volunteer at least one hour a week or more. Mentors help CCIU students, depending on their goals, handle money, track time, cross streets, write resumes, look for jobs, socialize, plan activities, do laundry, eat healthy, and learn about college. A copy of current State Criminal Background, FBI Fingerprint, TB Test, and PA Child Abuse Clearances are needed before starting.
