- Physician, neurosurgeon, WCU distinguished alumni
- Practiced medicine in Lancaster for past 37 years and has been president of neurolosurgical practice invoving as many as 14 physicians and 85 employees
- Served in U.S. Marine Corps in Korean War at age 19; three major combat engagements
- After Korea earned B.S. degree in health and physical education at West Chester University
- Chief neurosurgeon, Lancaster General Hospital, 1976-94

- Coached 145 All-Americans, 12 NCAA record holders, 7 Olympians, and 4 world record holders
- Brought five NCAA Team Championships to Villanova
- U.A. Air Force Special Services; Air-Force 400 meter track champion, 1961
