Admission to the MA degree program is the same, whether you are applying for
the on-campus or the Distance Learning (DL) program.
You will need to submit the following. (please click

1. University application for Admission to Graduate Study (click for "Apply Online" to start application)
2.
The Department of Communicative Disorders Supplemental Application form
3. Official academic transcripts from all colleges at which you took undergraduate courses*
4. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) results**
5. Three letters of recommendation or University recommendation forms
6. A Personal Statement of your academic and professional goals (750 word maximum)
- If you are applying for the distance education component, please include information in your essay indicating how your learning style would be a good match for a distance education experience.
- If you are applying for admission into the on-campus/local program, please include information in your essay on how you think being part of a distance education may impact your learning style and overall experience at West Chester University.
7. Logs of your clinical observation and clinical practicum hours
*Official transcripts should be be in the sealed envelope in which you received them
**Please request testing agencies to send official GRE and MAT scores directly to the Office of Graduate Studies. If you are applying for the Distance Learning program, please indicate this by writing "DL (NJ or Harrisburg)" at the top the front page of your application. The University uses a self-managed application format; you are responsible to gathering the application materials and sending them as a package to the Office of Graduate Studies. In structions are included in the application.
The deadline for receipt of applications is January 15th for admission the following Fall semester. Students are admitted to the program only in the Fall.

Graduate Assistantships
A limited number of graduate assistantships are available. An assistantship provides a tuition waiver and a stipend. In return, you are obligated to work for the University: 20 hours for a full-time or 10 hours for a half-time assistantship. In order to be eligible to receive an assistantship you must submit a Graduate Assistantship Application Form with your application.
