The Broad purpose of research in Applied Psychophysiology is to develop a further understanding of the intricate dynamic between mind and body. This can be accomplished through the use of sensitive bio-physical monitoring equipment such as: ECG (cardiogram), EEG (electroencephalogram), Heart Rate Variability, SpO2 (blood oxygenation), BP, Respiration and Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) also known as electro-dermal response (EDR).
