Purpose
To produce
actionable marketing analytic results to better attract new clients, deepen
existing client relationships and continuously improve Vanguard's marketing
performance.
To develop a deep understanding of a wide variety of both internal and
external data, develop documentation on the data and engage in continuous
transfer of this data knowledge to interested crew.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts
analytic projects to solve marketing problems and identify business development
opportunities, performing all phases of the project lifecycle.
Engages in thoughtful analytic design. Identifies and
develops segmentation, action, and performance characteristics. Gathers
and carefully cleanses data. Applies thorough testing
and quality controls throughout all project phases.
Performs
analytic programming in SAS to manage and analyze data.
Identifies
and utilizes the proper specialized analytical tools for a given project (ex:
SAS procs, Enterprise Miner). Documents
analytic process and results and prepares appropriate presentation materials.
Works
with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) throughout the organization to populate and
maintain the metadata repository associated with the data warehouse and related
data marts.
Builds deep expertise in Vanguard’s data and external
data, especially pertaining to elements and characteristics relevant to marketing. Documents this
knowledge and applies it to complex marketing analytic projects.
Engages in regular knowledge transfer through informal
consultations with analytical crew, development of written documentation and
metadata, and formal briefing events.
Participates
in special projects and performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Undergraduate
degree in an analytically oriented major, such as economics, statistics,
marketing research or an applied social science or equivalent combination of training
and experience.
Academic training in basic applied statistics.
