German students took the Zertifikat Deutsch in NYC

German Students

Dr. Kordula Segler-Stahl (German program) took some students to NYC so they could take the exam for the Zertifikat Deutsch at the B1 level. From left to right: Taylor Shaw, Caroline Pitocchelli, Allyson Headings, (Dr. Segler-Stahl), Stephen Spangler, Allison Weaver, Mary Beth Sadow, and Kyle Phillips.

The 'Zertifikat Deutsch' is an internationally recognized, independent assessment of a person's German skills and especially useful for students who want to work for a German company in the US or Germany, or students who would like to continue their studies in Europe. The exam took 4 hours and the skills tested were: listening, speaking, reading and writing. All students had at least completed GER 202 with grade B or higher and some have already spent significant time abroad. We are very grateful to the Department and especially Dr. Williams, for supporting and financing the effort.
