Academics: Introduction

Criminal Justice is an academic discipline that integrates history, philosophy, sociology, psychology, law and science. As an inter-disciplinary field of study, criminal justice scholars are concerned with describing, analyzing, and evaluating the operations of the justice agencies (law enforcement, courts, and corrections) as well as the behavior of criminals and victims. Students interested in studying criminal justice gain knowledge of criminal behavior, victimology, law and procedure, management, ethics, juvenile justice, corrections, and research.

Our program of criminal justice assists students in comprehending the ever-changing nature of criminal law and procedure, scientific investigation, theories of crime prevention and corrections, and research. A criminal justice education is the logical choice for the student who desires a challenging profession, an opportunity to make positive change, interesting courses, and a secure career.
