Faculty: About Us

The mission of the Economics and Finance department is to provide a learning experience that will permit each student to achieve maximum intellectual development in her or his chosen area of study and to prepare for a satisfying career in that field.

As an aid to the fulfillment of this mission and also in support of WCU's commitment to teaching excellence, the faculty of the Department of Economics and Finance strives to:

assist students in acquiring a fundamental knowledge and understanding of the framework within which our business and industrial system operates;
acquaint students with the modern techniques used by business and industry that enables them to deal effectively with the changing environment; and
encourage students in developing the ability to analyze situations, to relate and classify pertinent factors and to derive alternatives for solving problems.

For our part, we will continue to sharpen our scholarship skills through research and consulting in order to ensure that course contents are both relevant to students' needs and responsive to the dynamics of the ever changing macroeconomic environment.
