Revised August 2007
Russian Studies
With the lessening of tensions between Russia and the United States, Americans have an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the country that was our primary adversary for more than four decades. In order to take advantage of the new economic and cultural possibilities for contact and exchange with Russia created by political and economic changes, you, as a student, will gain a thorough grounding in Russian culture, politics, and society.
The program at West Chester University is interdisciplinary, incorporating history, geography, political science, foreign policy, film, language, and literature. The program also attempts to reach a larger community of students who may have an interest in Russian studies.
