Choosing a Lender and WCU's Preferred Stafford Loan and PLUS Lenders

Deciding which lender to use for you education needs can be challenging. In response to significant changes in the education lending industry , prompted by the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007, The Financial Aid Office at West Chester University has researched lenders and their programs in order to assist families with their choices. Our goal was to find lenders in the both the Stafford and PLUS programs who have the lowest interest rates, the best borrower benefits and who provide excellent customer service. After extensive research and evaluation of lenders who responded to WCU Requests for Information (RFI's), the following list of preferred lenders has been compiled by our office.

These lenders have demonstrated excellence in assisting students and their families. A link to each lender's web site provides additional information only. Application process are as follows:

Stafford loan--check "yes to box #26 of the Free application for Federal Student Aid

PLUS--go to www.aessuccess.org to apply. Citibank PLUS borrowers ONLY go to www.studentloan.com.

If you choose a lender other than those listed below, please contact our office for instructions. Preferred lenders are listed alphabetically, not by school preference. If you choose one of these lenders, please do NOT apply for a Stafford loan or PLUS(with the exception of Citibank PLUS) on their web site :
