Current Positions

We are taking applications for employment with Sykes Union for positions at the information desk, copy center as well as student director and event staff positions. Qualification and Conditions

The union on any campus is often referred to as the "living room" of that campus. A place within the university "home" where the university "family" can gather to enjoy a wide variety of programs and services. The union serves as the campus community center whose mission is to provide an atmosphere whereby students, faculty, staff and guests can gather to participate in out of classroom experiences. These experiences may be through cultural, recreational, educational, and/or social programs and activities. Sykes Union is that center at West Chester University.

Students employed in Sykes Union are looked upon as a team whose goal is to serve the campus and the community, ensuring that the mission stated above is fulfilled. Each employee, though working in different areas, is essential to the overall operation of the building.

Selection Process

Those who possess a sincere interest in being an employee of Sykes Student Union should follow the process outlined below.


    Step 1: Complete an official application and submit it to the Sykes Information Desk.
    Step 2: The applications will be reviewed and if selected you will be contacted to participate in the interview process.
    Step 3: Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of the Pre-Employment Background Check and WCU campus judicial history.
    Step 4: Position offers will be given in writing.
