The Asia Adams Grant

The Asia Adams Violence Against Women Awareness Grant is funded by West Chester University in honor of a student, Asia Adams. On November 7, 2004, Asia was brutally tortured and murdered by a man she was dating and his friend. At the time of her murder, Asia was a junior at WCU majoring in Psychology and minoring in Women’s Studies.

The Asia Adams Violence Against Women Awareness Grant was developed in spring 2012 to help address the problem of violence against women in our community. The overall purpose and objective of this grant is to promote student-led projects and/or programming that educates the campus community about violence against women, including sexual assault, rape, stalking, dating violence, and domestic violence.
