For Parents of Current Resident Students
Residence Hall End-of-Semester Closing
The North Campus traditional residence halls and South Campus Apartment Complex close for the semester on May 7, 2016, at 10:00 am. All students must check-out 24 hours after their last final exam, or if their last exam is on Friday evening, by 10:00 am on Saturday. Graduating seniors should plan to check out by 3:00 pm on the day of their Commencement ceremony.
It is necessary that all residents check out correctly. Residents failing to return their key(s) will be charged fees ranging from $30.00-$100.00. Students should follow their hall’s checkout procedures to avoid complications or billing.
Residents are expected to read information sent via e-mail and distributed through their Resident Assistant to find out information about the checkout procedure. Residents are responsible for following this information correctly. The Resident Director/Graduate Hall Director will do a final inspection of each room after the residence hall closes. Additional charges may be billed to one or both residents if damages are discovered during this inspection, even if they had not previously been noted by a Resident Assistant.

Housing for 2016-2017
At this time, we are only accepting waitlist applications for housing. This housing application process does not guarantee a student a space for 2016-2017. We encourage students who wish to complete a waitlist application to also consider housing options off-campus. Waitlist applications are available in 202 Lawrence, and are not processed until the summer months.

For Parents of Incoming Students
All incoming freshmen who were admitted as on-campus residents and who have paid their $200 Admission deposit will be sent housing application instructions via their WCU e-mail usually two weeks after the Admission deposit has been paid. Please ask your student to share the information in their “Housing Application Instructions” e-mail with you for more information.
Students may request another resident student as a roommate. Please refer to the student’s application materials for more information. Instructions will be sent to residents of traditional halls in May.
Transfer students who were admitted as on-campus residents will be contacted by University Student Housing, as all transfer student spaces are in our Affiliated communities.
