For Parents of Incoming Resident Students for Fall 2014
- Students who have been admitted as resident students have the opportunity to choose traditional residence halls, managed by the Office of Residence Life and Housing at West Chester University, or one of our two suite-style halls, managed by University Student Housing, a subsidiary of the West Chester University Foundation. Students who have paid their $400 admissions/housing deposit will be sent an e-mail with a link (starting in mid-February) to an on-line housing preference form. Housing assignments will be made based on availability. Availability in the Traditional Halls is limited for the 2014-2015 academic year.
- Starting in March, our office will send, on a rolling basis, an e-mail with instructions for completing their housing application to all accepted resident students who are assigned to the traditional halls and who have paid their initial $400 deposit. Students are asked to complete the housing application materials on-line, and follow the instructions for any forms required. Our roommate matching program occurs in May and June. Housing assignments are made after the orientation program is over in July and are e-mailed to all campus no later than August 1.
- If students will be seeing their family physician, they should discuss with him or her the meningococcal vaccination. As of August 2002, Pennsylvania enacted legislation requiring all college students living in campus housing in Pennsylvania to have a meningococcal vaccination.
