  • WCU volunteers worked with the American Red Cross to set up an emergency shelter at WCU to assist community members who lost electricity in their homes due to a winter storm.

  • WCU's Annual MLK Jr. Day of Service where volunteers made blankets for Fleece for Keeps, Chester County Hospital, and Nemours A. I. DuPont Children's Hospital.

  • Over 1,200 pounds of food was donated by West Chester University students and staff to the Chester County Food Bank and West Chester Food Cupboard.

  • Students spent a week on Alternative Spring Break in Philadelphia working on a community revitalization program through community arts, gardening, and youth mentoring.

MLK Day Service Project
On Thursday, January 22, 2015, we will be honoring Martin Luther King, Jr.'s commitment to serving the community by hosting a service project to make no-sew blankets for children in need of some extra warmth. If you or your organization would like to participate in this project, please click here to register.

Spring Volunteer Fair
West Chester University is pleased to be hosting the Spring Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 (Snow Date: Tuesday, February 10, 2015) from 11:00am - 2:00pm in the Sykes Student Union Ballrooms. Students, faculty, and staff will have the opportunity to meet representatives from local non-profit agencies and explore local service opportunities.

Do your part in the fight against breast cancer by supporting this event. We are currently seeking volunteers and raffle basket donations to help make this event successful in spreading awareness and raising funds for the Kay Yow Foundation. If you or your student organization is interested in helping this cause, please contact Sierra Calaman.

Report Your Community Service Hours!
The Office of Service-Learning and Volunteer Programs tracks student volunteer hours across campus. We ask that all clubs, organizations, fraternities, sororities, athletic teams, and individual students fill out our Community Service Monthly Report Form so we can better publicize your hard work and commitment to serving others.

Outstanding Volunteers and Service Projects
Take a few minutes and nominate a friend or an organization for an award! Outstanding Volunteers are eligible to win a $200 scholarship!
