  • OCTOBER 31 – HATS FOR KIDS. Donate new or unused hats for children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments.  Collection at the WCU vs. Bloomsburg Football game at 1 p.m.  Hats will be collected as you enter Farrell Stadium.
  • NOVEMBER 1-30--13th ANNUAL BEAR FAIR.* Throughout November new teddy bears are collected on- and off-campus and are distributed to area hospitals and agencies for children in need at the holidays.  For more information, go to the Service-Learning website under Departments on WCU’s homepage.
  • NOVEMBER 2 and 3 – GOOD CAUSE CAFÉ* used book and bake sale.  Noon to 5:00 p.m. on November 2nd and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. November 3rd.  Sykes Ballrooms.  Proceeds help provide Thanksgiving meals in our community.  For more information contact the Office of Service-Learning.
  • NOVEMBER 2 – AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE, 2:00-8:00 p.m., Schmidt Hall.
  • NOVEMBER 2-5 – WCU NEWMAN CENTER ANNUAL THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE, Phase I.  Help prepare bags for drop-off to area homes.  For information contact the Newman Center, (610) 436-0891.
  • NOVEMBER 3 – DEEPHER DUDE sponsored by Delta Phi Epsilon, Sykes Theatre.  More information to come.
  • NOVEMBER 4 – ZINGO sponsored by AZD.  Sykes Ballrooms.  More information to come.
  •  NOVEMBER 4 – AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE, 1:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Village/South Campus.
  • NOVEMBER 7 – WEST CHESTER CLEAN-UP sponsored by S.W.A.N.( Southwest Association of   Neighbors meet at 9am at the Reformed Presbyterian Church at South New and West Union Street, will be done by 11am
  • NOVEMBER 9-19 - WCU NEWMAN CENTER ANNUAL THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE, Phase iI.  Help deliver bags to area homes for annual Thanksgiving food collection.  For information contact the Newman Center, (610) 436-0891.
  • NOVEMBER 11 – BEAR FAIR PRETZEL SALE.  Sykes Patio, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.  Come buy a pretzel and support the Bear Fair!
  • NOVEMBER 11 – BEAR FAIR BENEFIT DAY AT STADIUM GRILL RESTAURANTS, West Goshen and Chester Springs.  Mention the Bear Fair and a portion of your bill will be donated to WCU’s Bear Fair.
  • NOVEMBER 12 – BEAR FAIR PRETZEL SALE.  Academic Quad, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.  Come buy a pretzel and support the Bear Fair!
  • NOVEMBER 12 –CREW (COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE WOMEN, PHILADELPHIA) HOLIDAY LUNCHEON AND SILENT AUCTION.  Volunteers needed to assist with auction, registration, set-up and break-down.  Park Hyatt at the Bellevue, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.  Proceeds will benefit the Women’s Build Program of Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia.  For more information go to www.crewphiladelphia.org, or contact Lynn McDowell, (215) 864-5622.
  • NOVEMBER 13 – SPECIAL OLYMPICS AUCTION/FUNDRAISER, Fame Fire Company, Rosedale Avenue and Matlack Street.  Two to eight volunteers needed.  Volunteers can work in shifts.    Set-up from 4:00-6:00 p.m.  Event is 6:00-9:00 p.m. For more information, please contact Angie Robinson, angie.robinson@robinsonsales.com, or (610) 431-2098. 
  • NOVEMBER 15 – BACK TO SCHOOL HOOPS PROGRAM to benefit the Amy Hashkowitz Breast Cancer Foundation sponsored by AST.  South campus gyms, 1:00-5:00 p.m.  For information contact Erin Cline, EC633574@wcupa.edu.
  • NOVEMBER 18 – BEAR FAIR HOT CHOCOLATE SALE.  Purple Gym lawn, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.   Warm up with some hot chocolate and help the Bear Fair at the same time!
  • NOVEMBER 19 – BEAR FAIR BENEFIT AT WENDELL AUGUST FORGE, Main Street At Exton.
  • NOVEMBER 19 – SORORITY SHOWDOWN sponsored by Sigma Pi, Sykes Ballrooms to benefit PAL.  More information to come.
  • NOVEMBER 19 – BEAR FAIR HOT CHOCOLATE SALE.  Purple Gym lawn, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.   Warm up with some hot chocolate and help the Bear Fair at the same time!
  • NOVEMBER 19-21 – PHILADELPHIA MARATHON VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.  To have information forwarded to you, please contact Maggie Tripp or Ellen DiSanti in the Office of Service-Learning.
  • NOVEMBER 21 - HANGING THE GREENS in Downtown West Chester.  Sponsored by the Chester County Chamber of Commerce.  Advance sign-up is required.  Forms are available in the Office of Service-Learning.
  • NOVEMBER 21 – THE HICKMAN ANNUAL FALL CLEAN UP.  8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.  Rain date Sunday, November 22.  Bag lunches will be provided.  For more information, contact Jen at (484) 760-6306, or jmitman@thehickman.org.
  • NOVEMBER 21 - WCU NEWMAN CENTER ANNUAL THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE, Phase III.  Help pick-up bags from area homes for annual Thanksgiving food collection.  For information contact the Newman Center, (610) 436-0891.
  • NOVEMBER 21-DECEMBER 24 – SALVATION ARMY KETTLES/BELL RINGERS.  Many times available at locations throughout West Chester and Exton.  Two-hour shifts.  For more information or to sign up, contact Donna Copeland at the Salvation Army, (610) 696-8746.
  • NOVEMBER 27 – HOLIDAY GIFT WRAPPERS NEEDED, Wendell August Forge, Main Street At Exton.  Earn money for your organization or charity.  Wenndell August is looking for several volunteers from a group or organization to do holiday gift wrapping in exchange for donations.  Supplies provided—just bring your wrapping skills!  For more information, contact Jessica Madeira, (610) 363-2426.
  • DECEMBER 4 and 5 -OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS IN DOWNTOWN WEST CHESTER.  Various events sponsored by West Chester Recreation including Soup and Sandwich Parlor on Friday, December 4, and Gingerbread House Making on Saturday, December 5.  For more information contact West Chester Recreation at (610) 436-9010.
  • DECEMBER 5 – WCU THEATER DEPARTMENT’S 10TH ANNUAL AIDS BENEFIT.  Madeline Wing Adler Theater, 8:00 p.m.
  • DECEMBER 9 – NEXT DANCE CREW sponsored by Delta Zeta, Sykes Ballrooms.  More information to come.
  • DECEMBER 11 – LIVE STRONG GALA.  Hosted by Miss W.C.U.  More details to come.
  • DECEMBER 13 – JINGLE BELL 5K RUN/WALK to benefit the Arthritis Foundation.  General Wayne Elementary School, Malvern.  Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., run starts at 10:00 a.m.  Run, Walk, or Volunteer.  Details on the ways to volunteer are in our office.  For more information on how to sign up to run or walk, go to www.jbrphilly.kintera.org.
