Dr. Shorten joined the WCU faculty in 1989. As a licensed, professional environmental engineer, he brings to the program expertise in hazardous materials management, water quality, risk assessment and environmental regulations. As director of the Environmental Health Program, Dr. Shorten is who you should contact first with questions about the program, the discipline, and careers in Environmental Health. Dr. Sheehan joined the WCU faculty in 1980 and was one of the founding faculty of the program. She is a certified industrial hygienist and brings to the program expertise in human toxicology, industrial hygiene, air quality, and occupational safety.
