Camp SunshineCamp Sunshine supports children with life threatening illnesses and their families. Camp Sunshine staff consists almost entirely of volunteers who donate their time. Over 2,000 dedicated volunteers participate in our program each year. Volunteer must complete and submit an application, which is located on Camp Sunshine's website. Victory Junction Gang CampThe mission of Victory Junction located in Randleman, North Carolina, is to enrich the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun and empowering, in a safe and medically-sound environment. The program offers a week of exhilarating, challenging and nurturing fun under comprehensive, but unobtrusive, 24-hour medical supervision. Activities include arts and crafts, wood shop, an adventure course, archery, swimming, boating, fishing, horseback riding, music and theater, and a special NASCAR-themed program area complete with race cars, racing simulators, and racing gear. Contact information: Email: crutan@victoryjunction.org Website: http://www.victoryjunction.org/volunteers/index.php Community Service Activities: Victory Junction Gang Camp has a variety of volunteer opportunities available, however, Cabin Counselors are the most relevant for community service requirement. Cabin Counselors take acre of the daily needs of six to eight campers. This position requires being actively involved in the supervision, guidance, and motivation of campers by building working relationships with children and staff to ensure that a high standard of care is maintained. Cabin counselors are expected to sing, dance, and play with the children. Interested individuals must complete a volunteer application, have criminal clearances, provide three references, and complete a phone interview.
