Community Service Activity: Play Together, located in West Grove and Chester Springs, is a fully inclusive group where children with developmental disabilities can interact with typically developing peers. Volunteers will assist our Early Intervention staff to help children participate in a variety of activities, including arts, crafts, circle time, and snack. The group is held 9:00 to 11:30 am on Tuesdays in a day care center in Chester Springs and 9:00 to 11:30 am on Thursday at the day care center in West Grove. 

Volunteers are also needed for Special Needs Child Care.  These individuals are needed for child care one night per month from 7-9 pm during our Parent Support Group for Parents of Children with Physical Disabilities.

Other Child Care opportunities are available, however, they vary in times and days.  For instance, volunteers are needed to help assist the Holiday Breakfast, an annual event held at the Elks Lodge in West Chester. This event is held on the first Saturday in December. Families who have been and who are currently being served by CPA are invited to a pancake breakfast with Santa. Volunteers are needed to hand out toys and to assist children in making crafts.

Chester County Art Association

Chester County Art Association (CCAA) promotes participation in the arts through education, exhibitions, and community outreach at it West Chester and Exton locations.

Community Service Activities: Volunteers are needed to help with art show openings, public art events, art camp, and Exton Square Studio classes.  Volunteer assignments are available during weekdays, evening, and weekend hours.

Chester County Even Start

Community Service Activities:  Tutors will work individually with students in pre-school to grade 5. Activities include reading with students, helping them with homework, and playing games. Volunteers are needed at the evening school site located at Mary D. Lang Elementary School (address: 130 W. Mulberry St., Kennett Square, PA).

Even Start also has an extended day of Kindergarten classes at Mary D. Lang Elementary School in Kennett Square (address listed above) as well as one at Penn London Elementary (383 S. Jennersville Road, West Grove, PA). The Kindergarten Program is held Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9am-3:30pm.

Training is not required, but will be provided if needed.
