Entrepreneurial Education

The "EE" program is designed for educators seeking innovative, challenging, and relevant ways to engage their students, as well as those who intend to develop as 21st century teacher leaders.

Working at desk in classroom

Evolving within the scope of the College of Education's Institute for Educational Excellence and Entrepreneurship (3E Institute), the Entrepreneurial Education model is based on the following premises:

  • To be relevant education must connect to the world outside the classroom.
  • Teachers and students must learn how to interact and compete in a truly global environment.
  • Students need to learn how to be flexible, manage change, and use critical thinking skills.
  • Entrepreneurial educators are change agents. They model incremental change strategies for their students.
  • Collaboration and partnering are vital 21st century skills.
  • 21st century educators continually measure and document their students' achievement.

Entrepreneurial Education Certificate Program

Student and Teacher

Interdisciplinary in nature, the EE certificate includes participation by faculty of the College of Education, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business and Public Affairs, and the College of Health Sciences. It also taps subject matter experts from business, industry, science laboratories, and government agencies.
