Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification

This program is a post-baccalaureate non-degree program designed to provide students already holding a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Sciences degree from an accredited institution with an avenue to receive Teacher Certification in K-12 Health and Physical Education. Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification is run through the Office of Graduate Studies. Students enrolling in this program will be eligible for K-12 HPE teacher certification once all requirements are met.

At this time, the Department of Kinesiology does not offer a Graduate program in which the student will receive initial teacher certification and a Master’s degree simultaneously.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Arts or Sciences with a 2.8 overall GPA.

Application Process:

1. Submit an application to the Office of Graduate Studies for eligibility to enter the Post-Baccalaureate Program.
2. Your transcripts will be evaluated and your individual program will be developed. All coursework previously taken will be removed from your program (see advising sheet link above).
3. From the interview, you will be sent to the Office of Graduate Studies for registration into the non-degree program.

Tuition:
The coursework required for the program is undergraduate coursework and undergraduate tuition will be charged. If the student enrolls in a graduate class concurrently with the undergrad work, graduate tuition will apply to all undergraduate credits. Financial Aid:
If you are interested in financial aid, please contact our Financial Aid Office (610-436-2627). To qualify for aid, you may be required to enroll as an undergraduate and seek a 2nd degree. The coursework for the post-bac and undergrad degrees will be exactly the same.
