Sociology Club

The Sociology Club is open to all WCU students regardless of major. The members meet weekly, on Tuesdays at 3:15 in Sykes Room 209 or 210. The Club is very active, taking a trip on October 13, 2012, to Schuylkill Haven for the annual Pennsylvania Sociological Society (PSS) meeting.   The pictures at the right side of the page are from a trip to Millersville University to see Dr. Patricia Hill Collins--Dr. Collins is featured in the middle picture--on March 27, 2013.  Sociology Club members went to the Eastern Sociological Society meeting in Boston on March 22 and 23.  Two students, Joseph Maysky and Sara Snel, presented posters.  Next year we are planning trips to PSS, cultural venues in Philadelphia, and several speaker events. 

We had a great time at our "End of the Year BBQ" on Thursday, May 9th from 6 - 9 pm in the quad at the Commons Apartments!

Elections were held on April 16th for executive board positions in Sociology Club during the 2013-14 academic year.  Congratulations to the following Club Members, who will be assuming the following positions!

Salud Gaytan Iemus:  Secretary

And thank you to Brea Allen and Amanda Hallowell, who volunteered to be our Social Chair and Community Liaison.  Next year promises to be an exciting year of events, fundraising, and scholarly activities for the Sociology Club!  Make it a point to come join us.  We hold meetings at 3:15 on Tuesday.  The location for our fall meetings is yet to be determined.
