Students accepted into the M.A. in English will be asked to determine a track or concentration early in their program of study. Students do not have to determine their track or concentration prior to acceptance into the program, and regardless of the track or concentration pursued, all students receive the same degree, an M.A. in English.
The M.A. in English offers the following options:
Literature Track (thesis option)
Literature Track (non-thesis option)
Writing, Teaching, and Criticism Track (thesis and non-thesis option)
Creative Writing Concentration

In addition, the English department, in cooperation with the Department of Languages and Cultures, offers an MA TESOL program with three degree certificates:
All three programs have Introduction to Linguistics (ENG 230) as a pre-requisite.
