Over the summer of 2013, WCU student Matt Rieman participated in the NSF and USGS funded Southern California Earthquake Center Use Information Tecnology (Use IT) Research intership Program. Matt operated as part of an interdisciplinary science, math, and engineering team of international and domestic students working toward the development of improved 3-D computer models of basins, earthquake rupture scenarios, and relevant hazard maps for southern California under the supervision of leading scientists in the field.
