Requirements for Psi Chi Membership
Undergraduate Students
- Cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better
- Minimum of 18 credit hours in Psychology with PSY GPA of 3.5 or better. These 18 credit hours must include the following courses:
- PSY 100 Intro Psych*
- PSY 245 Statistics*
- PSY 246 Research Methods
- A minimum of 3 PSY courses taken at WCU including at least one course from Group 1 and at least one course from Group 2. (See Psych Major Advising Sheet for a list of Group 1 and Group 2 courses).
* or Department-approved equivalent
Graduate Students
- Must have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours
- Cumulative GPA of all graduate coursework must be 3.50 or above
- A minimum of 15 credit hours of graduate Psychology courses with GPA of 3.75 or above
- The minimum 15 credit hours must include the following five courses in the student's curriculum:
- Clinical curriculum
- PSY502 Advanced Statistics
- PSY517 Adult Psychopathology
- PSY524 Psychometrics
- PSY540 Multicultural Psychology
- PSY559 Psychotherapy
- Industrial/Organizational curriculum
- PSY502 Advanced Statistics
- PSY560 Industrial Psychology
- PSY562 Organizational Psychology
- PSY524 Psychometrics
- PSY563 Performance Analysis
- General curriculum
- PSY502 Advanced Statistics
- PSY506 Learning OR PSY509 Social Psychology
- PSY512 Personality OR PSY517 Adult Psychopathology
- PSY524 Psychometrics
