Welcome to the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at West Chester University!

CAS is the largest college at West Chester University, with 13 departments enrolling nearly 4,000 undergraduates and over 600 graduate students.  These departments offer a wide variety of degree programs in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Additionally, CAS offers a number of unique interdisciplinary programs. Our faculty have been recognized on regional and international levels for their research, publications, and leadership. WCU geology professor Hal Bosbyshell comments on Downingtown's earthquake on 6ABC's website. The quake registered on the university's new, three-channel broadband seismometer. The instrument is part of a regional network administered by the Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University and the global network used by the US Geological Survey to monitor earthquake activity world-wide.
