Faculty Development New Faculty In addition to the guidance and mentoring provided by individual departments in CAS, the Dean’s ofice is committed to helping new faculty develop as teachers, scholars, and contributing members of the institution. The Associate Dean for Faculty Development and External Affairs works with new CAS faculty in a series of one-on-one meetings and group brown-bag lunches to support planning for tenure and promotion efforts. Additionally, the Associate Dean helps new faculty understand the process of seeking external funding for their work. Faculty All faculty are also supported in their continuing scholarly activities, grant efforts, curriculum development, and program assessment by the Associate Dean for Faculty Development and External Affairs. Faculty are encouraged to meet with the Associate Dean early and often in the planning stages of grant-seeking, new program development, assessment and other activities. |
