Mental Health Awareness

Mental Health Awareness The mission of the WCU Mental Health Awareness Committee is to:

  • increase awareness of mental health issues on our campus,
  • improve participation in existing mental health programs and support services, and
  • engage in activities that will help eradicate the stigma associated with mental illness.

We will work toward accomplishing this mission by providing the following:

  • easily accessible information about support services,
  • educational opportunities and
  • support campus activities offered by campus offices and groups such as the Wellness Center, the Counseling Center, and the Active Minds Chapter, as well as other groups involved with mental health issues.

One means of doing this will be to create a mental health web page with links to both on and off-campus resources.
