The Sexual Misconduct Response Team (SMRT) is comprised of:
The Title IX Coordinator/Social Equity Director convenes the SMRT when a report of sexual misconduct is received. The purpose of the meeting is to share information and coordinate the University response to the situation. Reports of sexual misconduct vary widely in the nature of the misconduct, the amount of information received, and how victims wish to proceed. It is important for each of the University representatives who have a role in the process to participate in the decision as to how best to proceed to assist and protect the victim while also providing for a safe campus community. In addition, the SMRT convenes to review changes in the legal landscape and update policies and procedures and to assist with information for the CLERY Annual Campus Safety Reports.
NOTE: If a victim wishes to remain as confidential as possible based on the situation, the information for that person's particular case will stay with the Title IX Coordinator/Social Equity Director and will not be shared with the SMRT team. The Title IX Coordinator will make decisions on the next steps that are necessary.
