Faculty Grant Development Committee Program
The FGD invites proposals for activities enhancing faculty scholarship, creative activity, innovation in teaching and learning, and other aspects of professional development. Global Development Collaborative (GDC) Funding
The projects and activities supported by these grants are expected to: promote the mission and advance the various strategic initiatives of GDC, make progress toward the implementation of the goals defined under the five transformations in the Plan for Excellence. Identify, compile and share "best practices" and "lessons learned" noted through implementation of the projects funded. Award up to $10,000. Due: Spring, each year, check RFP for exact date. Multicultural Faculty Commission Awards
The MFC emphasizes that funding is available for research activities, projects involving teaching effectiveness, curricular development, assessment, enhancement of administrative skills, and other aspects of faculty professional development. Pedagogy for Engagement Grants
The PEG fosters collaborations among faculty and with students to build a scholarly community around issues of teaching and learning. The grant supports pedagogy-related activities that will support faculty development and the Student Success Transformation. Award up to $2,500. Due: February each year, check RFP for exact date. Sponsored Research Travel Fund
This travel fund is available to assist faculty who are seeking external funding. These funds may be used to support grant proposal activities, such as meeting with program officers in Washington, D.C. or participation in workshops in the preparation of grant proposals. Award for Student Research and Creative Activities
The Provost has funded 10 awards of $500. Students must submit a research paper or scholarly/creative project within any academic field. Undergraduate applicants must be registered for at least 18 credit hours and graduate applicants must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during the current academic year at WCU. CAS Faculty Research Fund
The College of Arts and Sciences Support and Development Award supports scholarly or creative activities. These awards are given in the fall and spring semesters. The maximum award is $2,000. CAS Entrepreneurial Grant
This grant opportunity supports faculty who wish to develop new, extracurricular projects. At the most basic level, projects should support the mission of the College and have the potential, over time, to generate revenue. The maximum award is $5,000. Due: March, each year. College of Health Sciences
CHS Student-Faculty Research Program
This grant program is designed to foster new collaborative research between students and faculty. Its goal is to enhance the learning environment for talented Health Science students while stimulating faculty scholarship and especially to involve students who may not otherwise have the opportunity for student/faculty research. The maximum award is $1,000. The announcement is released in the fall. Coordinated by Dean Barr. Contact: Dean's office.
CHS Scholarship of Teaching Award
This grant initiative is to support faculty members for developing projects that integrate scholarship into teaching, reflective of the Teacher-Scholar Model. This award (previously the "Teacher-Scholar Innovation Award") has been renamed the "Scholarship of Teaching Award" to reflect our ongoing understanding of the dynamic nature of the teacher-scholar model in action. PASSHE Faculty Professional Development Council Grant Program
This grant program encourages continuous attention to the professional growth and development of System faculty as teaching scholars.
