The summer is considered a "trailer" for packaging and awarding financial aid at WCU. A valid 2013-2014 FAFSA must be available to WCU and students must meet ALL of the eligibility requirements for Federal and State funding. Half time enrollment (6 credits) is required for most financial aid programs. Funding is limited. There are eligibility limits set forth by each program. Students be aware of these limits.
Loans: The 2014 Summer Aid Application is available only on-line. The Priority Deadline is April 11, 2014. Submission of the application does not guarantee aid for the summer.
PA State Grants: PA undergraduate residents may be eligible for a summer state grant if enrolled for at least 6 credits over two summer sessions in a degree program. Apply at www.pheaa.org, beginning in mid-April.
Federal Work Study: Summer work study is available during the summer. Positions will be based on departmental needs and the availability of funding. The Summer Federal Work Study Application is available in the financial aid office. Summer FWS will not appear as anticipated aid on a student's summer bill.
TEACH Grant: The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program provides Summer Grants to eligible students.
