The Black and Latino Greek Council (BLGC) of West Chester University was established on Thursday October 1, 1998. The new BLGC replaced the former Black Greek Council (BGC) and in its inception showed the council's commitment to be progressive in a changing diverse collegiate community. The BGC was an organization founded to provide governing council for the historically African American and Latino Greek Organizations. The BLGC is composed of Fraternities and Sororities and provides for the development of leadership and cooperation exclusive of gender or race. The Council strives to promote unity and cooperation amongst the minority Greeks on WCU's campus.
