In most cases:
Step 1: The Borough Police or Public Safety will notify Judicial Affairs of your citation. Your behavior may be in violation of the WCU Code of Conduct.
Step 2: You will receive an email notification of the date, time and location of your judicial conference with a University hearing officer to discussed what happened.
Step 3:
Your hearing officer will issue a disciplinary sanction if your actions are found to be in violation of the Code of Conduct. In addition to a Disciplinary Sanction (disciplinary probation, disciplinary reprimand), most students will receive an educational sanction condition such as Alcohol Education Workshop (for first year students) or BASICS*. Additional disciplinary sanction conditions may include fines, referrals to the Career Center or Learning Assistance Resource Center, loss of housing, community service, etc.
*Exceptions to the above:
If your blood alcohol level (BAL) was above .16 or you were hospitalized or held by police, you will receive a medical referral to schedule a BASICS appointment within 7 days.
