Student Government: A Message From Leadership

Welcome to West Chester University! We are thrilled that you have chosen West Chester to be your home over the next four years; you have chosen wisely. West Chester University is rich with history and is located in the heart of a thriving and lively town. Its administration, faculty, and students are actively involved in the surrounding community and have enabled West Chester University to be a place that every Golden Ram can be proud to call home.

Your college experience has the potential to be amazing, and it is our job as SGA to make your experience here at West Chester the best it can be. I encourage you to take full advantage of the opportunities at West Chester and to get involved as much as possible in the 235 organizations the University has to offer. Don't be afraid to try new things, discover and explore, and step out of your comfort zone. Although your academics always come first, many life lessons are learned outside the classroom through leadership and service.

In case you are not familiar with SGA, its responsibilities are to support all student organizations, distribute $840,000 to those organizations, oversee their bylaws, and emphasize school spirit. You will find us at every home football and basketball gane supporting our outstanding, hardworking athletes. More importantly, we advocate for students on an array of issues and work closely with the University's administration to ensure student input on important matters. My executive board and I intend to implement many improvements for the campus and student body over the next academic year, andwe would like your help in doing so!

SGA meets every Thursday night throughout the academic year at 7:15 pm. These meetings are a great way to learn about upcoming events on campus and also serve as the outlet to voice your concerns. They are an excellent resource to begin your involvement and leadership on campus!

Throughout your time here at West Chester, you may run into some difficulties whcih SGA can help. No matter how small or large the issue may be, please know that SGA will be here to assist you-it's our passion.
