All members of the campus community are encouraged to join in the University's commitment to recycle. For example, every ton of paper we recycle:

  • Saves approximately 17 trees
  • Saves enough energy to power a home for six months
  • Keeps almost 60 pounds of effluent out of the air
  • Saves 7,000 gallons of water
  • Avoids land filling three cubic yards of material

It’s easy to recycle.  With “All-in-One” Recycling, one blue recycling container does it all.  All acceptable recyclables (clean paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, aluminum, and food cans) can be mixed together and placed in one recycling container.
The blue “All-in-One” Recycling containers are readily available on just about every floor of every campus building, including classrooms and residence halls. All you do is drop all your recyclable items in the nearest container, and we do the rest.  It's that simple!
Nonrecyclable items, such as food waste, should be disposed of in waste containers.
By recycling and reducing waste, we lessen our impact on the Earth. We all want to do what we can to protect the environment.
