Hi my name is Lauren Perry and I am a Criminal Justice major with a minor in Political Science. I am a graduate from Downingtown East High School. Upon arriving at West Chester I realized the importance of becoming involved and soon immersed myself within various organizations. I am currently involved in Criminal Justice Club, Students Actively Involved in Leadership Club (SAIL), Multicultural Affairs Mentoring Program, Best Buddies, Alpha Phi Sigma Criminal Justice Honors Society which I hold the position of Vice President, and lastly the Golden Rams Society. Being engrossed within these clubs has helped me grow as a person and has also has made my transition from high school to West Chester much easier. I was just recently accepted into the Honors Seminar Program. Since attending West Chester I have been fortunate enough through hard work and studying to be on Dean’s List and to receive academic honors and awards. Upon graduating I want to pursue a career in Criminal Justice. With my Criminal Justice career I hope to help kids become more productive citizens in their community to help prevent crime. Frederick Douglas once quoted, “It is easier to build strong children than to repair a broken man”. Hopefully through the experiences I gain as a West Chester student both academically and socially I will be successful at bring this quote to fruition.
