You can stop by our office in Killinger Hall or we can come to a club meeting to talk about how your organization can get more involved. The Office of Service-Learning and Volunteer Programs also has drop-in hours in the student organization offices in the Sykes Student Union, 2nd floor across from Sykes 238. Drop-in hours are from 11:00am - 1:00pm Monday - Friday.
Tell Us About Your Community Service!
The University wants to know what volunteer work your clubs and/or organization is doing in the community. By reporting your hours we can publicize your hard work, apply for grants and awards, and support your efforts! We ask that all student organizations and residence halls complete the Monthly Service Report Form It's a simple form! If your service contact has changed, email Joellen Reindl, Secretary of Service-Learning and Volunteer Programs with your Name, Organization Name, Phone Number and Email.
The Volunteer Council was created in the fall of 2012 to help support the community service efforts of WCU's clubs and organizations. The committee is co-chaired by the Office of Service-Learning and Volunteer Programs and a Leadership Consultant from the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement. The committee is made up of a broad range of Community Service Chairs and/or the Philanthropy Chairs from organization, clubs, fraternities, and sororities across campus. If you organization would like to get involved with the Volunteer Council, please contact Fran Cintorrino. The group meets once a month to discuss upcoming service projects at the Office of Service-Learning and Volunteer Programs.
Nominate an Outstanding Volunteer of the Month and/ or an Outstanding Volunteer Project of the Month
Each month Outstanding Volunteers and Outstanding Volunteer Projects are selected from nominations from the West Chester University campus community. Outstanding Student Volunteers are individuals who exhibit an on-going commitment to community service; while Outstanding Service Projects are community service projects that are coordinated by student clubs, organizations, or sports teams that show a deep commitment to our community.
Nominees for Outstanding Volunteer of the Month receive a certificate, pin, and their name on the composite plaque in the Sykes Student Union. The volunteer that is awarded Outstanding Volunteer of the Month is automatically entered for the $200 Volunteer Leadership Scholarship through the West Chester University Parent Fund that is awarded each fall and spring semester.
