Dr. Sara Hinkle
Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs


Dr. Sara Hinkle has been working in higher education and student affairs since 1995, and was pleased to join the West Chester University Student Affairs team in August 2013.  Prior to moving to the West Chester area, she lived in Manhattan and held positions at Hofstra University and NYU.  Over the course of her career, she has worn a multitude of hats, with responsibilities in the following areas: orientation and new student programs, academic advising, student leadership and activities, community service, multicultural programming, international student services, residence life, judicial affairs, counseling, and teaching.  She earned a B.A. in psychology from Gettysburg College, an M.S. in counseling from Georgia State University, and a Ph.D. in higher education from Indiana University Bloomington.  Dr. Hinkle is also an active leader in the field-at-large, having held several leadership roles within ACPA- College Student Educators International (American College Personnel Association) and contributed over 50 national presentations and publications to the student affairs knowledge base.


In addition to serving as the liaison to academic affairs and co-advising the Student Government Association at WCU, Dr. Hinkle oversees the following areas: Sykes Student Union, Judicial Affairs and Student Assistance, Service-Learning and Volunteer Programs, Multicultural Affairs, and the Twardowski Career Development Center.
