Provide personal assistance to
students participating in the Mentoring Program;

Help in the development of
skills necessary for mentee to succeed at WCU;

Establish list of
expectations for mentees;

Guide
mentee in the development of goals;

Motivate
mentee toward achieving excellence;

Serve as a role model;
resource person, confidante and friend;

Refer mentee to appropriate
departments and/or staff;

Participate in mentoring
orientation program;

Commit to serve as mentor for
at least one academic year;

Encourage mentee to foster
his/her own development by attending co-curricular programs;

Meet with
mentees once per week;
-
Meet with Coordinator of
Mentoring Program on a weekly basis;
-
Maintain confidentiality,
except in cases of emergency;

Submit summaries of meetings
with mentee once per week.
