Welcome to the Office of the Vice President for
Student Affairs. Throughout the Division of Student Affairs, you
will find friendly professionals who care student success and
our students’ personal development while they are at West
Chester University.
Dr. Bricketto
joined West Chester University in 1986 as Dean of Students and
in 2001 became the Vice President for Student Affairs. He holds
a BS degree in Business Administration from Seton Hall
University, an M.Ed. in College Student Personnel Work from Ohio
University, an MBA in Management from Fairleigh Dickinson
University, and Ed.D. in Educational Administration from Rutgers
University. Dean Bricketto is an honorary member of the Friar's
Society, serves on several university committees, and advises
the Student Government Association (SGA). Dr. "B" is the father
of two college-age children and enjoys the vitality of working
with West Chester University students. He also has a passion
for running, traveling, golf and skiing as leisure time
pursuits.
The Office of
the Vice President is a good place to go with general questions
about the University and specific concerns about the quality of
life outside the classroom. Information about policies,
procedures, general student life concerns, or problems with "red
tape" at the University can also be discussed in the Vice
President’s Office.
Please explore
our website and check out each of our departments to learn about
their programs and services. Click on the link above to see our
pledge of service to students, as well as our Mission Statement
and Calendar of Activities. When you are in the Sykes Student
Union, please stop by our Student Affairs Office complex in room
238 – that is also where you will find the Office of the Vice
President for Student Affairs.

Trudy
Cruice
Executive Secretary to the Vice President for Student Affairs
Trudy began her career at WCU in 1992 as a
secretary in the Childhood Studies and Reading Department where
she worked for seven years. Then for three years she worked
as
an administrative assistant in the Teacher Education Center
where she assisted the Director in the placement of teacher
education students in practicums and student teaching
assignments. Ms. Cruice joined the Student Affairs staff as the
Executive Secretary to the Vice President in September 2001, and
is enjoying the challenges of this position. The primary goal
of this office is to assure quality service to all students,
faculty, staff and outside constituents. Please feel free to
stop by 238 Sykes Student Union for any assistance you may need.
Trudy has been
married to her husband Jack for 33 years and resides in West
Chester. They are the proud parents of six children - three
daughters and three sons. Their immediate family continues to
grow with three sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and two
grandsons. Four of their children are graduates of WCU, and
another son will graduate in 2006. The youngest son is in high
school. Trudy enjoys entertaining family and friends in her
restored Victorian home. She loves decorating, travel, and
exploring the new shops and restaurants in West Chester.
Jackie
Hodes
Assistant
to
the
Vice
President for Student Affairs
Jackie Hodes has worked at West Chester University
since 1986. For many years she worked as the Director of the
Wellness Center. Currently, she works as the Assistant to the
Vice President for Student Affairs. Ms. Hodes holds BA degrees
in Sociology and Psychology and a M.Ed. in College Counseling
and Student Personnel Administration from the University of
Delaware.
In her role as
the Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs, Ms.
Hodes works to complete special projects for the Division of
Student Affairs. She assists in chairing our President's
Alliance on Alcohol, Drug and Violence Prevention, she works
with the LGBT student, faculty and staff population on campus,
she works closely with the supervisors of the division's
paraprofessional staff to assist in planning and implementing
educational opportunities. Ms. Hodes also works to raise funds
for our newly created Student Affairs Endowment Fund as well as
connecting with alumni who were engaged in leadership roles
while at WCU. Working with college students and their concerns
has been a life-long career for Ms. Hodes and one that she
thoroughly enjoys.
