Meet Remi, West Chester University's K9 Officer! K9 Remi is certified in the detection of narcotics, tracking humans, and in article search. After earning his certification from the North American Police Work Dog Association, he joined the WCU Public Safety force in August 2016.

This friendly Black Labrador Retriever can be seen frequently on campus - 40 hours per week, even on weekends and late evenings. Each year Remi and his handler, Sergeant Robert Herzog, spend hundreds of hours in specialized and maintenance training. It's no wonder why Remi stays so fit!

Next time you see K9 Remi patrolling the residence halls, parking lots, and other campus properties, feel free to say "hi" and snap a photo. But before you pet him, please ask Sergeant Herzog.

K9 Remi is also available for events and demonstrations during the semester. Please contact the police administration at 610-436-3478 for more details.
