When including the WCU Foundation in your will, please use our legal name-The West Chester University Foundation.

The following bequest language will serve for unrestricted purposes:

I hereby devise and bequeath (a percentage of, or dollar amount) of my residual estate to The West Chester University Foundation, 628 South High Street, West Chester University, West Chester, PA 19383. This bequest may be directed for unrestricted use for the benefit of the University, or this bequest may be directed to the area of greatest need at the time that it is received.

Since a bequest may not be received for a long time, many are left "for the general purposes of West Chester University of Pennsylvania in the discretion of the Council of Trustees." However, if you wish to designate your bequest to benefit a specific purpose, it is advisable to discuss your intent with the Director of Planned Giving and other authorized representatives of the Foundation, so that appropriate laguage can be developed to meet your goals and withstand the test of time and change.
