“The Human Experience” IS BACK!
If you missed it last year, come check out this must-see documentary in February 2012!
West Chester, PA, 1 Dec. 2011—West Chester University will host four free screenings of the independent documentary film “The Human Experience” in February 2012. You will be provided with free refreshments at each screening, and the schedule is as follows:
Mon., February 20—7:15 p.m. in Sykes Theater
Tues., February 21—8:00 p.m. in Sykes Ballroom B
Wed., February 22—12:00 p.m. in Sykes Theater
Thurs., February 23—9:30 a.m. in Sykes Theater
The documentary is the story of two young men who, having grown up in New York City’s foster care system, set out in search of the meaning of life. On their quest, these young men live homeless in New York City, New York for a week, tend to disabled children in Lima, Peru, and spend time among the lepers of Ghana, Africa. “The Human Experience” challenges our preconceived notions of those who are different from us by providing insight into others’ lives. It teaches us to embrace the beauty of life and inspires us to go out and make the world a better place.
This program provides the perfect opportunity for students to further their learning outside of the classroom and will be a rewarding experience for all in attendance. To get a closer look at the film itself, feel free to view the trailer through the following link: http://www.grassrootsfilms.com/thehumanexperience/pre-trailer.html
To date, the organizations and departments sponsoring this event are the Student Government Association and Aid to South Africa.
If you plan on bringing a class or group of 10+ people to this event or if you’re looking to make this an extra credit opportunity for students, please contact Dr. Jacqueline Hodes.
