MFC Local Grants
The purpose of the WCU-Multicultural Faculty Commission (MFC) Local Awards is to enhance and support faculty scholarship, creative activity, innovation in teaching and learning, assessment, and other aspects of professional development. Stipends for summer work will not be awarded; however, requests for equipment, registration fees, etc., for projects conducted during the summer will be considered.
Specifically, the Request for Proposal (RFP) will fund at least one of the following types of activities:
Priority consideration will be given to applicants who propose to conduct research projects for the purpose of collecting preliminary data needed to develop a major proposal for submission to funding external agencies.

Priority in funding will be given to activities and expenses to the extent that they meet the following criteria:
The 2010 MFC Grant process runs according to the following timeline:
| February 26 | The MFC Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued from the MFC or the Office of Sponsored Research. |
| March 4 | A reminder notice is circulated announcing MFC RFP. |
| March 11 | A reminder notice is circulated announcing proposal deadline of March 30th at 12 PM. |
| Tuesday, March 23 | Proposals are due in the Office of Sponsored Research and Faculty Development at 12:00 PM. |
| March 30 | The MFC Grant Committee announces 2010 Grant Recipients. |
| April 2010 | 250-word proposal abstracts and amount rewarded are highlighted online for the year. |
| April 2010 | Recipients/Project Directors attend workshop and have pictures taken for Fall Newsletter |
| April 2011 | Year-end and budget reports are due tonya thames taylor in Main 309 at 12:00 PM. |
