B.S. Criminal Justice

Grow personally and professionally by pursuing your Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice at West Chester University. The B. S. in Criminal Justice is designed to meet the needs of transfer students, who have completed at least 45 credits, and who are working and caregiving while attending school. Graduates of WCU’s Criminal Justice Program go on to represent WCU in a variety of criminal justice positions ranging from police officers to victim advocates.The program remains on the cutting edge of the discipline with courses taught by experienced professionals with advanced educational credentials.Experienced in corrections, courts of law, gang violence, offender rehabilitation, policing, probation, parole, and public policy, WCU faculty teach cutting edge course related to contemporary issues impacting the Criminal Justice System.

B.S.W. Social Work

The Bachelor of Social Work program at West Chester University in Philadelphia is a part-time degree completion program that emphasizes critical thinking, self-evaluation, and understanding the connections between people and their environments. BSW students apply their assessment and intervention skills through two field placements that occur over the course of three semesters. Students learn to promote the strengths and well-being of diverse individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities.After graduation, students are able to choose from a variety of entry-level social work positions. Many students choose to pursue graduate education in social work and related fields.The BSW program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

In order to fulfill degree requirements, students are encouraged to have completed all general education courses prior to attending the BSW program in Philadelphia. Social Work courses are offered in Philadelphia along with a limited number of general education courses. Students must complete general education courses not offered at WCU in Philadelphia at community college (through dual enrollment) or on WCU’s campus in West Chester, PA.

BSN for the Registered Nurse

West Chester University’s nationally ranked RN-to-BSN program is available in Center City Philadelphia. Designed for licensed Registered Nurses, this degree completion program will put you on the fast track to success. The RN-to-BSN program is designed
to meet the needs of our busy students who are balancing life and work in addition to studies. Courses are offered in a hybrid format, alternating between in-person weekly evening classes and online assignments. Nurses with a BSN are needed in areas such as acute care, healthcare administration, and many other areas. Graduates of WCU’s RN-to-BSN Program continue to grow professionally and are qualified to take on a number of roles in both acute and chronic healthcare settings as well as community settings. Manygraduates continue on for graduate studies which qualifies them for leadership or nursing education positions. The BSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) through 2019.
